MY TRIBUTE TO THE WELSH WIZARD(finally!)

iv been meaning to get down to writing this for a long long time now.
this is my tribute to the my favorite footballer of all time..the man who i owe most of my inspirations to.
i doubt it if there is a more decorated footballer in England's club history...i believe there isn't , but that's not what he is bout
its not bout the stats.its not bout the glory and success...it never was...
its bout what e was made off
its almost surreal when u think bout how much he achieved by doing the one thing so many of us are afraid of doing..following your dreams...

RYAN WILSON GIGGS

MANCHESTER UNITED WINGER AND FRONT MAN FROM 1990- PRESENT

Ryan was born to a mother who was just 17 when he came along. so you can only imagine what kind of hardship she must have faced bringing him up.he was born to a father who was a rugby player and of African decent. which added to the racist comments he faced from his childhood in school and on the football pitch. But he only learn't one way off shutting people up...but playing his game and giving defenders nightmares with his wizardry on the field..
that's one quality he has never lost even after over 20yrs of professional football he never really loses his temper on the pitch...never been red-carded on the club scene and once while playin international football...which he does regret very much...
can u imagine what its like to watch the coach of Manchester united SIR ALEX FERGUSON drive upto your home and offer you a contract to come play at the club on a day you just turned 14. ...god surely must have seen something special and as you all know...god(sir Alex) can never be wrong..

But it was no fluke that he was selected at such a tender age
the legend goes such that one day at the theater of dreams there was a practice session going on for children from all over the country who were considered the best all over...
SIR BOBBY CHARLTON, incidentally who's appearance record was broken by ryan two years ago but we will get to that, was walking by watching over 70 kids jus going through their paces over the pitch...this kid caught his eye at the end of the pitch...in the 15 minutes that he was watching, that kid slammed in a hat trick.. immediately he ran into the manager's cabin and said "if u let go of that kid, u will regret it for the rest of your life!!"
the boss was like "who are u talking about "
sir bobby goes "that kid..." and points him out from the crowd
sir alex goes " ryan?? i'm drawing up his contract right now!"
not many players actually debut for man united at 17...not many players pledge their lives to the club...not many players go on to create history the way he did...and he did it with honour, respect and pride...
i cannot think of too many players who have lived such a fulfilling sporting life..much lesser have had an amazing personal life with no trouble whatsoever in handling their relationships and making sure they never lost out on his list of priorities...there is so much i can learn from the man's life... its almost awe-inspiring...
he still lives with his mother...still takes his children to the park...and never misses the Friday night dinner with family...his brother Rhodri is still playing in the non - league but he makes it a point to go watch him play and cheer him on...
i think all our cricketing sports stars can learn a bit of team spirit from him...
there are times when i watch him and wonder at what it might have been if he was never given the opportunity to play or something to that effect...truth is he was born to do this..
to be able to take on defenders 10 maybe 15 yrs younger and just cut past them like he did when he was 22...and he is 37...looks 37...acts 37....
but still the mr.dependable all of us united fans have known over the years!!
here is to the man...the legend...and now i think i would like to throw in some stats jus the gloat :P
HIGHEST NUMBER OF APPEARANCES FOR THE CLUB AT OVER 800 MATCHES AND COUNTING
he broke this record when he went past non other then Sir. Bobby charlton on that historic champions league final win over Chelsea at Moscow.talk about having the stage set!!

HIGHEST NUMBER OF ASSISTS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE-
his foremost job in a united shirt as a winger was crossing the ball..and my god has there been anyone better!! not even Beckham could be able to compete for that on that one!!

MOST DECORATED FOOTBALLER IN ENGLISH CLUB HISTORY-
not many players can boast of that kind of glory the way ryan has had over these 2o odd yrs...and not one in English club football...which is saying something if you think about the toughest league to compete in is the English premier league...
11 premier league medals
7 F.A. cup medals
2 Champion's league medals
and god knows how many personal awards
recently named b.b.c. sports personality of the year....only the 3rd footballer to get there...

SCORER IN EVERY PREMIER LEAGUE
right from the start of the league in 1991 he has scored in every single league to be the only player to do so...imagine the fact that the players he played with back then are aging managers of other clubs...and his own colleagues are battling to stay fit and getting any time to play...

looks like time decided to stand still for him to complete these records and still remain the boy genius who walked on as a sub to play Everton all those years ago!!

players will come and go...seasons will change and the victorious will always be on the move....
but the welsh wizard from Cardiff will always be the man who made football my life!!!

THE BALL IS WIPED OUT TO THE LEFT BY SCHOLES AND IT BROUGHT DOWN BY THE SLIGHTEST OF TOUCHES BY GIGGS!!CUTS INTO THE AREA BY FEIGNING TO THE RIGHT..LEFT THE DEFENDERS SCRAMBLING AS HE GOES PAST ONE...TWO....THREE...SHOTS GOOD!!ITS IN!!!MY GOD THE BOY'S A GENIUS!!!!

will always remember moments of him skipping past half the defence of arsenal in the FA cup semi replay...the ball lost in midfield near the half line by Viera...picked by Giggs and that run....oh the whole crowd was on its feet to watch his burst through the defence like nothing is in front of him and slam it home from close range over Seaman's head!!and the wild celebrations that followed!!!

this is my tribute...my ode if u would like to call it...but then the rhyming scheme would be completely off :P
but this is for you Sir. Ryan Giggs!!!
the knight in shining Armour who served his club faithfully and loyally!!
RESPECT!

LIFE'S NOT ALWAYS LIKE THAT

i don't know were to start or were to go from here. probably its gotta do with my writer's block lasting a few months. last time i checked though iv completely lost track time and space.life doesnt seem right. what am i really doing here. is this what i envisioned myself as being 5years ago??
i am as unsure bout myself as i was back then.
i always thought i would get what i wanted.there would be no problems whatsoever. living a life in eutopia. like the movies we see.all that is good.but all we see there is the success at the end. no1 really sees the blood sweat and tears involved.the pain and anguish and frustration.the failures faced.the depression and loss of faith.
always made to believe that life is one long happy journey. but reality is far from belief.
this week has been kinda like and eye-opener of sorts.ironic though that the time i say its been an eye-opening experience i never really make a difference and work on it.just curse my fate.
im in a job im not really fond of, but have no choice.am really trying to adapt, i really am. but this is not me.this is not what i wanted.
you mite ask what is it then.why dont you work on it?why dont u follow ur dreams??u live only once.....yeah yeah iv got that b4.
and everytime i have nothing to say.
am tired of having to cover up the fact that i really havent 'done' anything that my folks or family or even my friends consider being worthwhile.
friends.
hmmmm
what friends??
i look at people around me and im burning with jealousy.
look at their friends i say...they would do anything for them...always there for each other...
the kind u know am talking about....the honest ones...not the ones who see whether ur wearing the cooler crap or whether your worth being seen with.....
were do u get that???is that available on ebay??
people never get me...
and i think they never will...
but u cant change for people now can we??
i know this whole blog looks like one big cribbing session but i just couldnt think of were else i can take it out...
thats basically the eye-opener i had this week
we are not here for our family and friends....
in the end what really matters is whether your the one who is happy
yes its very selfish!! but i'm done being the one stepped on...time to dust off the regrets and move on....its a bad world out there and ur gonna get stabbed the minute ur back is turned...
what's that phrase in hindi
"dher aye par durust aye."
u never know anythin till it hits u in the face.i wasnt hit....i was thrashed all over....
unless i get back that belief by some god-sent sign i dont think i will ever be the same again.
its time i turn my back on this road and go down another way....i hope there are no regrets....
and like i sadi b4..
the irony of it all will be after all this talking i end up reverting to the same guy who was walked over and stepped on....sigh....good night....

THE MAN...THE LEGEND....

TODAY WE CELEBRATE A MAN WHO SIMPLY GAVE HIS EVERYTHING TO OUR NATION...I CAME ACROSS THIS QUOTE TODAY WHILE SURFING AND I JUST HAD TO PUT IT UP...NO AMOUNT OF WORDS WE SAY CAN MATCH THE BRILLIANCE OF THE MAN WE CALL SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR....BUT I BELIEVE WE GET ANOTHER GLIMPSE OF HIS SHEER GENIUS!!!READ ON PEOPLE AND FEEL THE PRIDE HAVING SOMEONE LIKE HIS REPRESENTING YOUR NATION!!

"When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam. When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will."

J.D. SALINGER 1919-2010 R.I.P.

Today the literary world lost what i feel is the one reason why we young people were given a voice in society.adolecents and teenagers alike have always been given a hard bargain and have had to face so much without even being given a head start.we are expected to behave like adults but are never taken so seriously.salinger was a man who understood this phase really well...that rebellious attitude....that frustration at not getting what one wants and being forced to do what we hate....the cather in the rye was an answer to all those parents who wonder were they went wrong in raising their children...a must read...

For a man who spent half his life as a recluse, J. D. Salinger left an extraordinary, indelible imprint on popular culture. His influence transcended his literary fame and shaped future directions in film, television, music, and theatre as well as popularising the term “to screw up”.
For most Britons, his abiding contribution was a tragic and unwitting one. On December 8, 1980, Mark Chapman, a disturbed Beatles fan, shot John Lennon dead in front of his home at the Dakota building, a Manhattan apartment complex near Central Park.
In Chapman’s twisted imagination The Catcher in the Rye, which he had discovered “when searching for some kind of guidance” had instructed him to kill his idol because he had become “a phoney”.
The book became “an electric current in my hand, burning my body”, he later recalled, and he began to blur the boundaries between his own identity and Holden Caulfield, the disaffected hero of the novel. Because of Chapman, Catcher has become a touchstone in the continuing debate about whether films, and video games in particular, can encourage violence.
Salinger’s classic is frequently cited as proof that culture cannot be held responsible for acts perpetrated by the people who consume it. However, he deserves to be celebrated for much more. In the decade after its publication more than 70 essays on the book appeared in British and US magazines.
The term “pop culture” became widespread only around 1960, nine years after the publication of Salinger’s book. But by then The Catcher in the Rye had spread its influence into many undernourished corners of cultural life. Along with Elvis Presley’s music and James Dean’s swaggering Rebel Without a Cause persona, it was Salinger’s Caulfield who best dramatised the emergence of a defiant youth identity in 1950s America. It helped to create demand among young people for their own cultural products, a demand that would fuel the youth cultural revolutions that convulsed the West, and later the whole world.
Salinger helped to invent the notion of teenage angst, and is a father figure to everything from punk music to Donnie Darko, and Bart Simpson to The Graduate. In music, Guns N’ Roses and Green Day are two of the modern bands who have worn its influence most explicitly. In film, the director Wes Anderson often features troubled young protagonists clearly descended from Caulfield.
And just as Salinger laid down a template for the future, so today the world of The Catcher in the Rye is reflected in Mad Men, the award-winning series about Madison Avenue advertising executives at the dawn of the 1960s.
Its creator Matt Weiner read Salinger to help him to nail down the morals, language and outlook of Don Draper and his friends. You wonder if the man himself ever knew.

we all will greatly miss a literary icon like salinger and i dont think we will ever have someone who understood the teenage angst as much as him.may his soul rest in peace. I for one am surely gonna miss him really badly and will be waiting for the next salinger to come along...although i seriously doubt it...good bye holden...
